EES Fellow Trey Crouch Receives Funding from the Research Abroad for Doctoral Students (RAD) Award

Congratulations to Mr. Trey Crouch, Environmental Engineering Sciences Water Institute Fellow, for receiving funding from the Research Abroad for Doctoral Students (RAD) Program. Trey was one out of 10 doctoral candidates to receive the award.

This esteemed program provides travel funding to doctoral candidates in the STEM disciplines to conduct research at a laboratory or collect data outside of the United States.

Crouch is currently doing field work with others in the Mamoré and Madeira Rivers in Brazil. During his time there, he is hoping to use sediment samples and channel geometry to correlate to remote sensing data, and use detailed hydraulic and sediment models to assess the sedimentation behind the dams. The results will be compared to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) estimated rates of sedimentation.

All award recipients were recognized during the annual International Education Week (IEW) reception on Thursday, November 15.
