Lose-Win Option: Are people in developing countries paying with their lives to reduce climate change?

Air pollution is widespread in developing countries as they try to enhance their economic output and provide much needed resources to their citizens. In this process, the particulate matter pollution has gotten to be very large. The same particulate matter also reduces the contribution of these countries to climate change since these particles scatter sunlight and alter clouds.

I will discuss these two faces of particulate matter and describe our findings on their contributions to climate change and human health. I will mainly focus on the health impacts in India, whose air quality is often in the news. You all can decide how best to address the juggernaut of a problem facing developing countries.
