New Faculty Hires

The Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure & Environment (ESSIE) is excited to welcome four new faculty members.

Sara Behdad, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences

Dr. Behdad received her doctorate in Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on sustainable design, e-waste management, process modeling, decision analysis, and product lifecycle engineering.


James Cahill, Ph.D.

Lecturer
Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences

Dr. Cahill received his doctorate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His research focuses on population genomics, genome sequencing and evolutionary biology.


Elise Morrison, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences

Dr. Morrison received her doctorate from the University of Florida’s Soil and Water Sciences Department. Her research focuses on the microbial ecology and organic geochemistry of wetland and coastal systems and the relationship between microorganisms and biogeochemical cycling.

 


Arthriya Subgranon, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor
Department of Civil & Coastal Engineering

Dr. Subgranon received her doctorate from the University of Michigan in May 2020. Her research focuses on sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems and multihazard engineering.
