Hydraulic pumps and cylinders are combinable systems to create lifting jacks. These systems allow you to lift very heavy loads normal jacks would not be able to accommodate. Cylinders are the actual "jacks" that lift the load and the pumps are the means by which pressure is applied to the cylinders to lift.
